Munkus allowed his ears to flicker for a moment glancing toward Mac and then Tugger. "It's good to see you again, Tugger." He spoke quietly, but sincerely.

Tugger's ears flattened for a second at Macavity's words, followed by a glare in his eldest brother's direction for telling him what to do, even if he knew he had to do it.
When Munkustrap spoke, he shoved the chicken to one side and rinsed his paws at the sink before turning to face his middle brother, leaning against the countertop and folding his arms defensively across his chest. Though the tail, which had been lashing moments before was now curling around his right leg.
"S'prised y'remember what I look like." The tone was sulky though more than challanging. Tugger was having an internal battle; he wanted to believe his brother, and he knew what Macavity had said about it being too expensive for Munkustrap to visit was likely true, but swallowing his pride wasn't that easy, especially when it was the only thing that stood between him and the flood of a different emotion.

Munkus' ears flickered back at that, his blue eyes coming up to meet his brother's gaze. "You've grown up, but really?" He shook his head a bit, turning back to finishing with chopping the carrots, only to find that he already had. Damn it.

Tugger's eyes met Munkustrap's only briefly when his brother looked at him, before glancing away. "Yeah, well," he shifted a little, voice rather thick again, "that happens in six years."

Mac passed Munkustrap a head of lectuce to chop up, remaining mostly out of the conversation for the time being.

Munkus set to work on that, his ears flickering again. "Yes, it does, it doesn't mean I don't know my brother when I see him and it certainly doesn't mean I haven't missed you."

Tugger shifted again, absently rubbing one arm, "Was endin' up back here always your plan?" he asked, steering the conversation away from himself.

Macavity glanced over, noticing the chicken Tugger had abandoned, and pulling it toward him, finishing cutting it before tipping it into the pot, one ear flickering as he listened.

The knife Munkus was using hesitated in its motion for a moment before he continued his work. "I expected to come back to Felidae."

"Expected or wanted?" Tugger pressed, he knew it was an unfair question, none of them really wanted to be there, not in this house at least.

"That's a difficult question to answer, Tugger." Munkustrap replied, his tail twitching behind him.

"Yes." If you'd asked him that during the first year or two? No.

Mac turned an ear toward the conversation, still rather letting them talk it out for the time being, but also rather interested in 'Strap's answers.

Tugger's tail tip twitched a little as he watched Munkustrap chopping vegetables, at his brother's reply, the next question was out before he could stop it, "Why?"
