"Well, you finished, so it can't have been all bad?" Munkus stepped back, picking up the bedspread and laying it out over the bed.

"Mmm," Tugger said again, "I finished." Finished, he decided, was definitely a better word than 'graduated', which was pushing it considering his final grades.

"What sort of jobs have you been angling for?" He tossed the pillow back on the bed before putting moving his books from the top of the nightstand to the shelf underneath.

Tugger shrugged, not liking this conversation much, "Anythin' I can get. Best experience I got is bar work, but that ain't too much use since prohibition."

Munkus chuckled a bit. "No I don't suppose it is." He looked around, seeking a change of subject.

Munkustrap's laugh relaxed Tugger a little, his ears pricking back up a bit, glad his brother wasn't persuing this further. He finished what he was doing and stood back from the bed, "Well at least y'got someplace t'sleep now."

Munkus offered him a bit of a smile at that. "Yeah." His blue eyes moved around the room, not a lot had changed. He paused though when he saw the grooves where the dresser had been moved in front of the door. They were deeper than he remembered. His ears flickered as he tried to avoid the thought of how many times that piece of furniture would have needed to be moved for that to happen.

Throughout his younger teens at least, Tugger had been in the habit of moving that dresser on a nightly basis. Especially after the bottle incident. Even more recently if he'd known his father to be in a bad mood, or had any reason for not wanting anyone in the room, he would occasionally utilize it.
It was earlier than he useually went, but Tugger was considering bed now, after his nap that afternoon coupled with the evening's events, he likely wouldn't sleep, but at least it would be an excuse not to make conversation when things still felt awkward.

Munkus glanced toward the clock and picked up a book. It wasn't late enough for him to be tired, but the conversation had pretty well vanished and he wasn't sure it was possible to pick it up again.

Tugger closed the bedoor door, the likelihood of Deuteronomy arriving back at the house increasingly growing as the evening wore on. Then he flopped back on his own bed, lying on top of the blankets and staring at the celing, arms behind his head.
"Y'know," he wasn't sure if continuing to converse was a good idea or not, but he supposed he had nothing to loose, "it used t'take me ages t'fall asleep in here for the first few months after y'left." there was nothing accusatory in his tone anymore, he was more just considering how things had changed.

Munkus glanced toward him younger brother as he pulled his shoes off, stretching out on his own bed in preparation for opening his book to do some reading. "I...I'm sorry."

Tugger was almost surprised at how quickly he found himself shaking his head at that, "Ain't your fault, was just odd I guess, gettin used t'bein' here on my own. I guess you were used to if for a while before I was born, but I'd never had a room t'myself before."

Munkus shrugged at that. "I was too young to remember that, but...yeah."

Tugger stared at the celing some more, "I guess."

"Anything happen while I was gone?" He knew the basic answer to that, but no details.
