He nodded. "Do you like dancing then?"

"Sometimes," she admitted, "though I'm more often in the mood if I ain't bin' on my feet at work all day, y'know?"

He nodded, though he didn't. "That makes sense," he said and considered. "Would you perhaps like to go with me sometime?" He could dance, even if he didn't enjoy it.

Teazer coloured a little at that, feeling her cheeks glow, or maybe it was the alcohol, "I uh, it's difficult. Hard t'plan ahead..." she trailed off, what she was saying was true, but she was also worried it sounded like excuses.

Martin quirked a brow. "How hard? Just pick a night and say if you'll come or not."

"Well like I said, it'd hafta' be a night when I've not bin' workin' all day." a pause, "but I'd also hafta' be a day when my brother's workin' late, which I don't tend t'know until mebbe the day before. He, uh, worries about me bein' out alone at night. It's easier he don't know about it than havin' the arguement." she was babbling a little by the end, half feeling guilty despite it being the truth, but also secretly glad she had a way out, it sounded a little too much like a date.

Martin frowned slightly. "Well then," he murmured. "What about lunch sometime?"

"I, uh..." his suggestion flustered her greatly, she didn't know how to say no, but she also knew that, harmless as he appeared, she didn't want a date with this tom. She just couldn't see him in that way.

Martin arched a brow, waiting for a response.

Would it really be leading him on to say yes? Meeting again didn't have to mean any more than friends did it? "What did y'have in mind?"

He shrugged. "Just lunch sometime."

"I guess there's no harm in that," Teazer agreed, still feeling somewhat wary, "if I've got a day I ain't on the lunchtime shift."

Martin nodded. "Well, do you have any idea when that will be?"

Teazer thought for a minute, trying not to be worried by his insistance, "I'm on a split shift Wednesday, doin' breakfast and dinner shifts, I don't useually go home in between, ain't worth it, so I could always meet you then?"

Martin nodded. "Wednesday should be acceptable."
