Charles looked over the numbers, yet again, finally setting the sheet aside on his desk and moving on to a different file dealing with yet another aspect of the company. Frankly, he'd prefer to still be at home after the hours he'd been keeping the last couple of days, but work was a necessity. He rubbed his eyes behind the half-moon reading glasses, his ears twitching toward the hall at the sound of pawsteps. Please don't stop here, keep going down the hall. There's no one in this office.

The pawsteps stopped in front of his office and there was a sharp rap followed by his half brother opening the door and stepping in. "Heya, Charlie."

Philip raised an eyebrow, spreading out in the chair in front of Charles' desk. "Oh, come on brother, is that any sort of greeting?"

The older cat looked up from his work, removing his glasses. "Sorry. Hello, Philip, how are you? Why are you suddenly in my office?"

"Come now," Philip said, spreading his paws wide at shoulder height. "I just wanted to stop by and say hello... Besides," he continued, lacing his paws behind his head. "Where else would I be after my brother attended the event of the year?"

"Ah, and there we are. The ulterior motive." He put his glasses back on and returned to his work. "There's nothing to tell you."

"Come now, if I ever just came around to see you, it would give you a heart attack and while you're getting on there in years, you're still too early to go that way," Phillip said with a teasing grin. "And sure there's stuff to tell me. Come on, it's not that hard to open your mouth and get words out..."

"How about these? Go away, Philip, I'm in the middle of work."

"So am I," Philip insisted, paws still behind his head.

"Then go interview somecat else about it. There were a lot of cats there, I'm sure you can find someone." His tone was almost resigned, knowing he wasn't going to get out of this that easily.

"But why go tramping around the cold winter day when I know you went too?" Philip asked sweetly. "And besides, it's not like I use one source, I need quite a few, especially for something like this."

"You do realize you need to narrow your question if you expect me to answer it, yes?" So much for getting his work done.

Philip grinned, quite pleased. "Well, can you give me a general idea of some of the cats there, any major fights or anything like that?"

"You pretty much know most of the guest list I believe. There was a...less than civil conversation between a coupe of cats, but" He shrugged. "Nothing you could really call a fight."
