She still didn't move immidiately, instead reading over her brother's shoulder for a page, mildly curious to see which of them was faster. She shook her head as he turned the page over in perfect time. There was nothing in it. She glanced at his face instead taking in his expression as he read. Then, realising what she was doing, she shook her head and quickly slid off the chair arm, crossing the room and taking up her own book again.

Cori glanced up as she moved. He sighed softly, other cats should deal with it, Tant was his best friend and they had no right to make her feel like this.

She curled up in the armchair again, deliberately leaning so she was mostly facing in the opposite direction to her brother. Maybe she'd keep the interest in her book that way. It wasn't some unhealthy obsession with her twin at least, Tantomile was in the habit of watching anyone in her presence, she didn't know why, if she did there might be some way of curbing it, but she just found other cats fascinating. Her ears didn't miss Coricopat's sigh either, though she pretended not to have heard it, she didn't like that she was affecting him this way, surely it was better he was happy than concerned abotu her.

Cori watched her over the top of his book for another minute or so before returning to the printed word, though his ears remained tilted in her direction. He wished there was something he could do.

She felt his eyes on her, but kept her own glued to the page and it was some time before Tantomile chanced looking up and at her brother again.

Cori looked up, cocking his head on one side. "What're you thinking, Tant?"

Tantomile was silent for a moment, wondering if she should tell him the truth, she didn't want her brother to be concerned. Then again, he'd likely already noticed how few pages she'd read compared to him, it was clear her thoughts were elsewhere. Besides, if she couldn't tell her brother, who could she tell.
"Do you ever think about the future Cor?"

He shrugged. "Sometimes. Why?"

"Well you did ask what I was thinking about."

He looked her over, nodding slightly. "True. What about the future are you thinking?"

"A number of things I suppose. It would be nice to just be able to be me. Maybe even do something I love." Tantomile admitted, "Cor, what do you want to be when we're older?"

He leaned his head back against the chair, considering. "I...don't really know yet. Someone who does something important, I guess."

Tantomile nodded, meeting her brother's eyes and sounding almost wistful as she spoke, "Me too."

Cori offered her a bit of a grin. "I bet you'll do it, too."

"I bet you will too. In fact, I'm sure of it."
