Mac tapped a paw against the edge of the desk, considering for a moment. Fat arrogant sonofabitch that Jones was, he had no real way to get to the other. Jones had been playing the game quite a bit longer than he had after all. "If you're sure..." Mac said after a moment.

Mac chewed the end of his cigarette, a habit he thought he'd broken years ago. He nodded, opening and drawer and riffling through it, passing over twenty dollars after a minute's search.
