"You mind sayin' all this were they can still hear you?" Mac asked, inclining his head toward the police station. "'et in the car and we'll talk, alright?"

For a moment, Tugger was almost tempted to just turn and walk away. But however much he wanted to now, he knew it wasn't going to help him in the long run. With a low growl signalling his displeasure, he ducked into the car.

Mac swore under is breath, pulling the door open and sliding into the driver's seat, turning the car on and pulling smoothly away from the curb. "You twice-damn idiot," he growled, glancing back at Tugger before turning his attention back to the road. "Now do you see why I thought 'etting you involved would be a bad idea?"

"So me gettin' arrested f'somethin' you did because I happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and actually followed your advice, is entirely a product of my own bloody incompetance?" Tugger snarled, "You're all as bad as each other, you two," he glowered at both his brothers, "and Deuteronomy. All any of you can do is tell me how utterly useless I am! And then wonder why I do nothing with my time but sit around the house, accordin' t'you I ain't fit t'do anythin' else!"

Munkus' ears laced back at the reference to their father a snarl rising in his throat. "Why you--" He broke his sentence off, settling back against the seat.

Mac slammed a paw against the driving wheel, almost sending them off the road before he realized that turning around and attempting to strangle his brother was a bad idea while behind the wheel of a car. "You're plenty fit," he snapped. "But no one would know that from lookin' at you or hearin' you! Idiot, I didn't mean it was 'cause you couldn't do it, but cause I didn't want you in situations were somethin' like this would happen."

"I never asked you to take care of me or take me with you, either of you." Tugger's tone, angry fit to burst moments before, had gone cold, "The only thing I ever asked either of you t'do for me was stick around, I don't mean never move out, but t'just stay in touch." he turned to Munkustrap, "I barely heard a word from you the whole time you were away at law school, and you," he turned back to Macavity, ain't spoken to me in a year or more."
He left it at that, Tugger was exhausted, too much to be angry, except in stony silence. They could yell and shout at him all they wanted, but it would fall on deaf ears, right now he just didn't care anymore.

Mac scowled and looked out over the road. "Thought it would be best at the time," he muttered.

Munkustrap growled, he was tired of defending himself about something that had happened almost four years ago. He stayed silent, turning to look out the window.

Tugger didn't look at either of his brothers, he leant back in the seat instead and closed his eyes. He was hardly feeling very peaceful, but the night's events had caught up with him to the point of total exhaustion, and without intending to, he rapidly slipped into sleep.

Mac glanced over at his middle brother, but did not say anything until they pulled up outside the house. "Alright," he said. "Here's your stop. Wake up and 'et out of my car." He was seething, and figured anything else he had to say or do would better be said or done in a few days.

Munkus paused, but got out of the car, "Thank you, Macavity." He opened the back door which Tugger was leaning against.

Leaning against rather heavily at that, Tugger was jerked awake as he very nearly found himself on the wet ground for the second time that night. He struggled out of the car, wordlessly and walked past Munkustrap towards the house, only stopping at the front door when he realised he no longer had his key. They'd searched him back at the police station and taken anything he had on his person, including keys, and wallet, and of course, his gun. At least it had been pretty clear that a pistol was not the murder weapon. Admittedly he'd forgotten to ask for his personal belongings back when bailed, though he suspected they'd have kept the gun anyway, even though he had a license for it, Munkustrap had insisted on that much at least.
Tugger stood on the porch, waiting in silence for Munkustrap to unlock the front door.

Mac nodded at Munkustrap. "Night, 'Straps," he said. He looked over at Tugger glowering at the porch and called out, "Night to you too, baby brother," before he pulled the car away from the curb again, and drove off into the night.

Munkus moved over and opened the door, glancing toward the front room where their father was sleeping before heading up the stairs.
