Munkustrap paled. Bail...how the hell were they supposed to pull that off. "Do you mind if I speak with my brother privately for a moment, sir?"

Sonya narrowed his eyes at that. "Actually, a little, yeah."
It was at that point when a slightly scared looking officer stuck his head in. "Erm, sir?" he said quietly.
"What?" Sonya said, turning, eyes narrowed.
"Well... his bail's been posted. Just a minute ago."
Sonya blinked. "He... by who?"
The officer glanced down at a paper in his hands. "... Erm, Macavity Hollister?"
"What, the hotel mogul?" Sonya frowned, processing the last name and turning back to the brothers. "He a relative of yours?"

"Yes, distantly." Munkustrap responded, rising. "Since the bail's been posted I assume he's free to go?"

Tugger just sat there, for the moment allowing Munkustrap and the Commissioner to hash things out, he felt slightly numb all over, especially at the mention of Macavity's name, though, despite everything, he couldn't help but bristle when he heard Munkustrap almost dismiss thier elder brother.

Sonya's eyes narrowed but he nodded. "Yeah," he said finally, "He's free the go. But I will be keeping in contact," he warned the other cat.

"We wouldn't expect any less." Munkus replied, glancing at his brother. "Let's go."

Tugger shook himself out of his thoughts as Munkustrap addressed him, rising to his feet in what still felt like somewhat of a daze. He was confused, scared, and now, just a little angry as well.
He glanced at Sonya briefly as he followed his brother out of the room, not really knowing what (or indeed if) he could sat to the Commisioner, thanks for the coffee? So instead he kept silent.

Mac was waiting outside in the rain, leaning against the side of the car he had pulled up to the curb, a cigarette sheltered by the brim of his hat.

Munkustrap looked at his elder brother, but didn't say what was on his mind at the moment. "Hello, Macavity."

"'Straps," Mac nodded at him and turned his attention to Tugger. "Moron."

Once his brain had processed A, that he would not be spending the night in a cell and B, who the cat was who had bailed him out and was now stood before them, Tugger glared fiercely at Macavity, "You told me t'run." he retorted to his brother's greeting. "Great idea that turned out t'be!"

Munkus narrowly avoided a smirk at that. At least he and Macavity could still agree about things some times.

"I didn't mean for you to get caught," Macavity replied hotly. "Both of you, 'et in the car."

Munkus almost objected to that but decided he didn't want to walk all the way back to the house and did as instructed.

Tugger growled, "They would've got ahold of me either way, at least if I hadn't taken your advice I wouldn't have been caught runnin' from a bloody murder scene!" he didn't get in the car, rather waiting to see how Macavity would respond first. maybe it was childish, but he didn't feel much like co-operating for either of his brothers right now.
