Sonya entered the room, slapping a file down on the table in front of the suspect. "Alright," he said, pulling out a chair, and taking a long swing from his coffee cup. "Shall we get started then? I think we'd both like a chance to sleep."

Tugger was silent for a moment, "It isn't any different to back at the docks here, " a pause, "is it? I don't have t'say anything until I got a lawyer here?" Tugger was doing his best not to sound argumentative at least, he just wanted to be sure of the facts.

Sonya let out a long sigh, rubbing a paw over his face. "Is there a particular lawyer you'd like us to call?" he ground out.

Tugger nodded quickly, actually feeling rather grateful that he'd been given a straight answer. "Munkustrap Hollister." there was a little trepedition in his voice too, Munkustrap was going to be furious. "I can write the number down for you, he won't be at the firm this late, but he'll be at home." Cat, he just hoped his brother would get to the telephone before Deuteronomy did.

Sonya took a long blink. "Hollister, eh? Relative of yours then?" Not that it mattered. "Write it down and I'll have someone call him up." Anything to get this wrapped up as soon as possible.

"Mmm," Tugger nodded, scribbling down the number and Munkustrap's name again, "My brother." a pause, "If an older tomcat answers the telephone, that would be my father," he thought for a minute before coming up with something that sounded plausible, "don't tell him what's happened, just ask for my brother or you'll be stuck on the phone all night."
He hoped that suggestion would be enough to make the tired Comissoner follow it if Deuteronomy did happen to be at home. It had to be worth a shot anyway. Tugger had a feeling you were only allowed one phone call, the last thing he wanted was Deuteronomy hanging up before they could get hold of Munkustrap.

Sonya blinked and nodded. "I'll keep that in mind," he said, rising, phone number in hand. He left the room, going over to the phone outside it, dialing the number on the paper.
((Now go to sleep, or I won't post again tonight. XD))

Tugger nodded as Sonya left, "Thank you."
As the door closed he dropped his head to the table, letting it rest on his arms for a few moments, how on earth had he ended up in this mess?((Alright, but there had better be a nice phone conversation between Munkus and Sonya for me to read in the morning ))

((that fully depends on how you define "nice" )) A hurried, but hushed voice came on the line. "Hello?" Munkus had been half-dozing at the kitchen table when the phone rang and now he was silently praying that the two rings hadn't woken his father, who was asleep in the arm chair in the main room.

Sonya sighed into the phone. "Is this Munkustrap or the father?"

"This is Munkustrap. Who is this?" His voice was still muted, but it had taken on a cautious edge.

"Sonya Vlask, Police Commissioner of Felidae. We currently have your younger brother, Rum Tum Tugger Hollister in custody, and he wants a lawyer, and he wants you. So if you could please come down to the station so we can wrap this up and all go to sleep?"

There was a long pause on the other end of the line. "Did I hear you right? You have Tugger in custody?"

"Yes," Sonya replied, looking around, hoping there was an unclaimed cup of coffee somewhere he could steal. "We have Tugger in custody regarding a murder scene down by the docks. He refuses to talk without a lawyer, so could you please come down to the station?"

"Oh, bloody hell. Yes, I'll be down as soon as I can." There was one more bus that ran into town, he'd have to rush to catch it. "I'll be there shortly." He hung up.
