Misto's eyebrows shot up and he took a too quick sip of his drink, nearly choking on it a little. "I... I really didn't think you did it, Tugger. But, yeah, okay, we can drop it. Sorry."

Tugger sighed slightly, "I know." he managed after a moment, "Just a bit of a sore spot at the moment, it didn't go down too well with my brothers."

"Ah," Misto said slowly. "So, you're getting along with them just about as well as usual then?"

Tugger nodded, "Somethin' like that. I'm just sick of them treatin' me like I'm still a kit, y'know."

Misto shrugged slightly. "Yeah, that would be tough." That, at least, was a problem he had never had with Jones. His uncle had never treated him like a kit, but more of like a servant.

"Dunno, suppose I oughta' be used to it. Then again, I ain't even seen Mac in over a year, don't stop him havin' a go at me first opportunity though."

"It's really been a year?" Misto asked, a little surprised. "I thought that was the brother you got along with more."
((Such as when they were back in high school I figure Mac and Tugger got along better, and that's where Misto is coming from.))

"Mebbe, if he'd bothered t'stick around, and did somethin' other than berate me when he did finally decide t'show up again." Tugger retorted.

"Fair enough," Misto said, inclining his head and taking a sip of his drink. "Seems strange for him to skip out for a year and show up just to yell at you though."

"Well he showed before I got bloody arressted," Tugger admitted, "though it was his fault I got caught hangin' round the wrong place at the wrong time. But even then he was findin' stuff t'have a go about." Tugger had conviniently forgotten that it was him who had orginally been hostile towards Macavity, though even if he'd been reminded, he'd likely have insisted his attitude was justified.

His eyebrows raising at that, Misto took another drink. His fault Tugger got arrested...? But he decided to let it go. "Well," he said, with no experience in this area what so ever, "What else would older brothers do?"

"Give me a bit of credit where it's due?" Tugger suggested, taking a long drink, "Ain't dared t'have a proper conversation with 'Straps since it happened. Easier t'stay out of the house."

"Yeah, sometimes that is easier," Misto agreed. "But you'll have to talk to him sometimes. Why, what has he done lately? The same old?"

"Mmm," Tugger agreed, "somethin' like that. Let's just say he wasn't impressed with gettin' a call from the PD at nearly midnight t'come and by my legal representation."

Misto choked a little. "Well, I can see how that might not be too pleasing. But he came at least right? That has to count for something."
