Damnation, he had played this all wrong. Oh well, perhaps it would not be a total loss. "Martin," he said. "What is your name then?"

"Teazer," she didn't use her full name when out, too scared she might meet someone who knew her brother, then again she went by Teazer to everyone, perhaps she sould have gone with something different, but it was too late now. "Nice to finally meet you Martin."

At least Martin was a common enough name. He hesitated for a moment and then held out his paw to be shaken. "And I am most pleased to meet you as well."

Teazer shook the offered paw, giving him a more open smile this time.

"I..." Martin waved a paw somewhat vaguely. "Were you leaving?"

Teazer nodded, "Yeah, I uh, I've gotta get back. My brother doesn't.. I mean, he's expectin' me in."

Martin kept the scowl off his face. "Of course, I would hardly want you to get in trouble but... After finally meeting it seems a shame to part so soon." Hm. Too forward? Oh well, he would have to see.

Teazer nodded, though her expression was genuinely apologetic, that spark of excitement returning a little when he asked her to stay. "Are y'here most evenings?"

Apparently being forward worked. He would have to keep that in mind. "I, sometimes. It depends on work." And how annoyed he was with different members of the establishment. "When do you think you'll be able to come back?"

"It kinda depends too, not so much on work," Teazer admitted, "but I live with my brother an' don't get me wrong, I wouldn't swap him f'anyone, but he worries about me bein' out late on my own." She bit her lip, "He doesn't know I'm here tonight."

Wheeler didn't know his sister--?! Martin managed to keep his expression smooth and a little wide-eyed. "Well, it's not always safe in this town," he said. "I..." he glanced around the room and back to her. "I could walk you home if you'd like? If you don't want to be out on your own?" Too forward. Ah well.

"I live outta' town a bit," Teazer explained, "there's still a bus though so no need t'trouble yourself. I appreciate the offer though."

"Of course," he said nodding. He shifted, making it look like he didn't want to leave. "But you'll come back here? Some other night?"

"Of course," Teazer nodded eagerly, "soon as Jerrie's workin' nights again." she sighed slightly, knowing that could be a while. "Y'could walk me t'my bus stop if you'd really like."

He smiled eagerly at that. "I would like that," he said softly.
