Martin leaned back in his chair, looking around the small, somewhat crowded Speakeasy. It was at times like this he almost wished he smoked, so he could add to the cloud rising above his head from many of the other patrons. It would also give him something else to do with his paws, since they were unoccupied when he was not bringing his drink up to his mouth.
He had been going here for a while now, having settled on it, despite it's apparent seediness, more so than places like the Chrysalis, which he had walked into once, saw Zimmerman, and walked right back out of. Besides which, he had never been one for Jazz bands, and much more enjoyed the somewhat inept but more entertaining Vaudeville shows.

Rumpelteazer was seated on her own at a table close to the stage. She was wearing a simply cut dress in lemon tones, it was a bit pale for her liking, but unassuming at least, she'd seen a beautiful red one in a shop a few weeks ago, but decided it was rather obnoxious especially if Jerrie happened to come across it when she was doing laundry, he's definitly wonder why she had cause for a dress like that.
She had one paw closed around a glass, though her eyes were roving across the room, taking in the other cats and content to observe the life around her rather than taking an active part in it, though she was looking forward with some interest, to the vaudeville act the little club had booked for that night.

Martin raised his eyebrows on seeing the Wheeler sister in her usual area. Hm. Somehow he had missed her when he walked in. Well, that would make tonight at least a little bit more interesting. He nodded to one of the barmen, ordering another drink for himself and one for her.

Teazer hadn't finished the drink she was holding, so she was more than surprised when the bartender placed another one in front of her and said it had been paid for. She glanced around the bar, and caught him sitting at another table, even though he wasn't looking her way, she felt sure it must be from him again. She bit her lip but at the same time couldn't help but feel a tiny bit of a thrill go through her as well.

He did another scan, making sure not to linger on her, and keeping the slight smirk off his face when he saw her with the drink and the expression she was wearing. He turned his eyes back to the stage, crossing his legs at the knee and leaning back.

Teazer turned back to the stage, the night's entertainment would be starting soon. Her mind was still on the mystery tomcat though, surely he must know she'd sussed he was behind the drinks by now? Was he just really shy? Did he want her to make the first move?

Martin watched as the show started, tapping one foot against the ground, considering. He had certainly been playing this out for a while. He would wait this night out, he thought, and after the show hope she finally approached him. He had to play this right after all.

Teazer didn't dwell on the tom once the show started, it had been the first time she'd gotten the chance to go out in ages, and she wanted to enjoy herself tonight. She drank the drink he'd sent during the show though, he'd sent them enough times for her to know they were harmless, and it seemed silly to turn down a free drink.

Martin glanced over at her several times during the show, knowing that was a time when he could watch her without noticing. Hm. What to do, what to do.

Teazer applauded loudly as the act left the stage. Then she got to her feet, catching one of the bartenders to ask the time, she needed to be back before Jerrie got home.

Martin's eyes followed her. If she left without coming over, he'd pretend to be leaving too and see if he could maneuver it to look like it was chance that they bumped into each other at the door.

Teazer nodded her thanks to the bartender, it was getting on, she could spare another half hour, but if she left now she'd be home and dry long before Jerrie was back, if she stayed for the next act, she might be pushing it. She took her coat from the back of the chair and slipped it on, deciding to get going.

Martin sighed. He would really have preferred it to be the other way around, but he was getting almost bored with the game of ordering drinks and avoiding glances. Might as well change it up a bit. He rose, putting his own coat and hat on and headed for the door, making it look like he had no noticed her rise.

Teazer weaved her way through the crowded bar to the doorway, more intent on looking for a way through the crowd than noticing the individuals who made it.

Martin angled his body right and then looked down, so when he ran into her, it looked like he had been watching his feet more than where he was going. "Oh," he said, when they bumped. "Terribly sorry..." he looked up, making it seem like he had no idea it was her he was running into. He paused significantly.
