The Answer to Everything ((1910))

Cori watched as the server slipped away to fill their orders. "How'd your afternoon classes go?"

"Managed not ta hurt any of the teachers if that's what you were askin'," Mac replied, though he was grinning when he said it. "Otherwise just fine."

"I was asking something along those lines. Good to know they made it out unscathed." He chuckled.

"No promises for tomorrow though," Mac said, his eyes snapping over to the cat as they brought out the two ordered milkshakes.

"Fair enough." Cori nodded to the server, setting the right amount down to pay for the shakes.

Mac grinned, leaning back a little, though not far enough to fall off the stool, sipping at the cold and sweet concoction.

Cori glanced at his friend, arching an eyebrow, but turning his attention to his own beverage.

Mac glanced around the room, eyes lighting on a clock in the corner. Yeah, still plenty of time. "So, you have any idea what your college is goin' ta look like?" he asked after several moments of quiet between them.

The mottled tom shrugged a bit. "I'm thinking an in-state law school a couple hours away. I went and looked over the campus, seems pretty nice. As to anything else...not really. Guess I'll have to see."

Mac nodded. "Sounds nice enough," he said mildly. "Just goin' ta have to check in every once and while though, can't just go off ta college and never come back."

"Don't worry about that. I'll be back for most breaks, and I expect I'll be bored out of my skull when I'm not studying and attending classes."

((*headdesk* He's really got no idea...))

((None. It's almost like, "Don't gooooo! You will be destroyed for years to come!" ... Also, you do realize how pissed Mac is going to be when he doesn't come back for breaks right? After saying he would.))

Mac snorted at that, finishing off the milkshake. "You? Bored with the masses of humanity? Must be talkin' 'bout some other cat."

Cori chuckled dryly. "Indeed we must."

((oh, yeah....I can imagine.))

((Actually, Mac might find out about it earlier, cos Cori is going to have to explain what the hell he was doing or Mac would never trust him.))

Chuckling, Mac set the empty glass down on the counter, leaning his elbows against it, his tail swishing behind him. He did not want to go home that day, though he knew he would when he went to fetch Tug and walk him home.
