Mac hissed in pain at that, glaring at Doc, though he understood the necessity of it. "It was," he snapped, trying to focus on something else.

Doc's ears flickered at that, but he didn't say anything as he removed the bullet.
"So I see. So, the cardroom opened this evening and seemed to work well enough." Coricopat remarked idly enough.

Doc set to work on cleaning the wound so he could stitch and bandage it without concern of infection.
"And the accounts appear to still be in order. I'll see about locating a new accountant within the next day or so."

Mac nodded, forcing himself to relax a little. The worst was over, he told himself, at least the bullet was out. "Good, good. Any news from the police department snitches?"

"There's a Pinkerton in town. He got in yesterday I believe. Seems to be looking for someone in particular, but he doesn't have too much information on his quarry yet. Also, the new Police Commissioner is having a time getting everything in order. A couple fo them swear he hasn't slept more thna twelve hours in the whole past week." Cori replied, finidng a chair and settling into it.

Mac raised his eyebrow. "That... huh. That poor man. He must've been thrilled when I started goin' on down at the docks. Almost feel sorry for him."

Mac continued to frown and nodded, glancing down to take note of Cohen's progress. "I'll be sure ta keep that in mind," he muttered.

Doc snipped the thread he'd been using and carefully wrapped the wound. "You will be fine, assuming you take it easy for a while."

Mac shrugged, wincing at the motion. He pushed himself up to a sitting position. "Alright," he growled. "Not plannin' on takin' any trips down there anytime soon."
